Amicus Frequestly asked Questions
Does Amicus have a MYOB/Quickbooks interface?
Amicus has a CSV export utility designed for MYOB. The CSV file can also be exported to Quickbooks*. However, we have a MUCH better solution which we encourage all clients to seriously consider. Amicus has complete saasu.com integration. Saasu.com is far cheaper and we consider it much better than MYOB or Quickbooks for all accounts and payroll related matters. No client that we know of who has ever started using Saasu has ever even dreamt of going back to MYOB or Quickbooks. Check out http://www.neotechnology.com.au/amicus/saasu for more details.
*Using third party software.
Is Amicus client/server based?
Amicus is SQL Server based (true client-server), Amicus does not require proprietary hardware, we generally recommend high quality hardware such as 'Epson' strip printers but others can be substituted if cost is an issue.
Is Amicus capable of expanding with my business?
Amicus is SQL server based which is highly scaleable in its own right. Adding to this Amicus has a number of remote site synchronisation and redundancy features and options. Our data model is at core the most flexible in its class. Many more extensive options are available if required: Watch this video as an example. http://www.neotechnology.com.au/amicus/videos/site-aka-business-unit-or-...
Can Amicus be used with portable devices such as a PDA or mobile PC devices?
Absolutly. We have a PDA application called Smartdockt which runs on windows mobile devices over wifi. In addition, with the advent of ultra mobile PC devices (complete computer in tiny form factor running windows XP) such as the one below, you can actually run the terminal software on the mobile device - you get about 6 hours out of the batteries on these.

Is Amicus capable of being programmed without the assistance of a technician?
Our menu editing is the easiest around. All you do is open the menu in 'edit mode' then use the touch screen to add / edit / move items around the menu.
Does Amicus have a membership database capable of having user defined fields?
Yes. Amicus actually has a points based customer loyalty system complete with voucher reward generation system. Plus it includes pricing by customer or customer group.
