Amicus Supported Hardware
This page outlines the hardware items that are officially supported by Amicus POS
Customers and Partners please note, from 6.02 onwards, Amicus only officially supports EPSON printers using ESC/POS commands. After many years of battling with OPOS we have determined that despite its potential, it is a poor implementation with too many bugs, memory leaks and crashes. We have experienced also a number of issues using generic EPSON ESC/POS Emulation style printers, while you may use them we do not support them at all moving forward. We are also rescinding support for OPOS cash drawers, pole displays etc.
| Class | Brand | Models | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Receipt Printer | Epson | TM-T88V | This product is by far the best in its class. Amicus only officially supports ESC/POS commands, OPOS is being phased out and is not supported. |
| Epson | TM-T20 | Cheaper alternative. | |
| Kitchen Printer | Epson | TM-T88V | By far the most trouble free product available for this purpose. |
| TM-U220D | If thermal paper is likely to go black in your kitchen then use this model (dot matrix not thermal). Note that Thermal is preferred because its faster, quieter, cheaper, requires no ink and has a far better & easier to read printed docket. | ||
