New SSD setup.
One thing that we did as well as usual sofware development this week was to setup a new Ghost image for a solid state drive. This image will be used for our developers to help improve performance. After installing the required programs etc., I found that the performance of the SSD was better than our existing hard drive.
Our existing setup was to have 2 hard drives setup in a RAID stripe configuration, so it was not that slow to start with. However, we got high performance SSDs, and noticed an instant improvement. At the same time, we upgraded to Windows 7. This, too, improved the performance of the machine. Personally, I am finding the new setup good. Less frustration at having to wait, and more features from the new operating system. Win.
